YENSA Festival returns for its third edition under the theme AS I AM. Rooted in Black women’s artistry, inventiveness, and bold imagination, YENSA Festival 2026 honours Black women dance artists claiming space on their own terms. The festival brings together emerging voices presenting new choreographic work alongside established practitioners whose practices extend across performance, research, teaching, preservation, and community-building. Across dancehall, vernacular jazz, African diasporic forms, and contemporary expressions shaped by lived experience, these artists continue to expand what dance holds and how it moves through the world.
